Museum of Islamic Art in Malaysia
The Museum of Islamic Art of Malaysia (IAMM) opened on December 12, 1998 is the largest museum of Islamic art in South-East Asia. The museum, located at Jalan Lembah Perdana in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, extends over 4 floors, and covers an area of 30000 square meters. The museum decorated by the architect of Iran and Uzbekistan has 12 galleries and is decorated by 5 domes representing the 5 pillars of Islam. It contains 6000 pieces of art including 200 Islamic manuscripts and the largest model to the world of Masjid al-Haram. The construction of the museum cost 70 million.
